Characteristics of cinnamon production systems in Vietnam

- 526 hectares of land were planted cinnamon
Recently allocation of forest land to farmers in rural areas are being promoted. Each family is assigned an average 3-5 hectares , more households from 8-10 ha ; stabilize their land in 40-50 years . When households are assigned using the right purpose . Many upland areas , previously uncultivated land is gradually greening with cinnamon .
- Planting cinnamon is hard work and expensive , outdoor field production ; dependent on natural , steep terrain , difficult traffic . Cinnamon is a perennial plant , the production cycle for at least 10-15 years to provide the product . The process of creating cinnamon forest can be divided into 3 phases : Phase breeding and seedlings , planting period and the period of care and protection.
- Due to limited production of subsistence , outdated farming techniques , extensive farming , mainly by manual labor to produce cinnamon limbs still in a state of small, scattered, productivity low quality of labor , are also technical stop at the traditional experience .
- Technical facilities for producing poorly cinnamon : rudimentary tool production , lack of equipment and processing facility to cinnamon , lack of drying, the storage shortage , lack of product packaging so products are vulnerable items, milestones , not high quality .
- Regarding the overall labor shortages and high quality labor , especially seasonal workers . Due to the lack of quality labor and low labor productivity is not high , is limited to the acquisition of new technical advances in the production of cinnamon .
