Vietnam: Steering Committee for sustainable development of cashew industry established

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat has signed 1077/QD-BNN-TCCB Decision on the establishment of the Steering Committee for Sustainable Development. The Steering Committee is composed of 14 members representing the ministries, branches and localities involved in the development of this country, by Mr. Le Quoc Doanh, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, as its head.  
 
From the export of raw cashew nuts, cashew Vietnam has gradually moved to the export of processed cashew kernels and raw materials consumed in the country. There have been many processing plants are expanding and building more and improve the processing capacity is much higher than domestic materials, progress towards the import of raw cashew African countries.
   
However, the paradox of Vietnam's industries also began revealing the capacity and processing plant opens a lot of material in the water but not so that expansion, by contrast, declining area.
 
According to Nguyen Duc Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas), approximately $ 1.8 billion in exports of cashew nuts this year, only about $ 300 million from oil deep processing cashew nuts and individual product directly as snack food thing, salted cashew nuts, butter and So, the new Steering Committee was established with the task of studying and proposing to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development guidelines, solutions, policies and mechanisms under the jurisdiction of the Ministry to promote planning plan and implement organizational development programs that sustainable.
