Total exports of agricultural , forestry and fisheries of Vietnam I/2014 quarter increased to 9.4 % ( at about $ 6.9 billion ) compared with the same period in 2013.

Leading export growth in the first quarter of agro -forestry and seafood is seafood industry . According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development ( MARD) , seafood export turnover is estimated at 1.61 billion , up 35 % compared with 2013.

To maintain the sustainable development of the fisheries sector , according to consultants of the Organisation Food and Agriculture (FAO ) , Ngo Anh Tuan , the fisheries sector should focus on three key products between now and 2020 to enhance the added value including : tuna , shrimp and fish industry .

 

Tuan explains : Due to high market demand for this product so 3 accounted for 80 % of exports of fisheries . In addition, the geographical balance for export and domestic consumption is even greater . Therefore , to further enhance the added value of these products was very positive .

In addition to seafood , coffee is one of the exports increased the most in terms of both value and volume . The volume of coffee exports reached 601,000 tonnes , worth U.S. $ 1.17 billion , up 24.8 % in volume and 13.8 % in value compared with the same period in 2013 .
