Vietnam, Brazil businesses look to connect

Update: 10/13/2018

Vietnamese and Brazilian businesses are building bridges and encouraging trade promotion activities amid the global economic turmoil.  Alongside the trade of familiar products (such as coffee, seafood and pottery), there is a little-known area of exchange between the two countries – quartz stone.

To promote the value of this product further, the Vietnam-Brazil Friendship and Cooperation Association recently joined with the Hanoi Association of Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises to hold a seminar in the Vietnamese capital on July 4.  A number of talks presented information on the scientific value of the stone as well as how to choose and use it.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Thac Dinh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Brazil Friendship and Cooperation Association, and Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam Vitoria Alice Cleaver, both declared that the association has played an important role in lifting bilateral trade to 1.6 billion USD last year and 815 million USD in the first five months of 2013.

Currently, entrepreneurs from Vietnam and Brazil are exploring opportunities to boost their trade of a number of products, including non-woven fabric bags, steel, cement, leather shoes, ceramics, quartz, coffee, foodstuff, soybeans and frozen seafood, according to the association's economic board.
