Rumors' ve made corn growers miserable

Coming to houses of corn growers or corn trader (sell boiled corn, corn vendors) in Hoi An city (Quang Nam province, Vietnam) at this time, we just find boring moods caused by rumors.
It was before and after Tet Hoiliday until now, there've been rumors of corns boiled with zinc batteries and chemicals, that the rumors spread quickly to other places, making corn prices fell dramatically.
A farmer called Huynh Duc said: "due to rumors that traders or purchasers pushed corn prices down more than half, the corn prices've fallen from 4,000 - 5,000 VND/ corn to 1,500 - 2,000 VND / corn".
According to Le Dinh Tuong, Deputy Head of Economics Ho Chi Minh City Hoi An: " Each stove boil about 3,000 corn eveyrday day but the consumption is only half of those. Obviously, the rumors make corn growers shedding ".
On 28/2/2013, Mr. Phan Van Lieu, Chairman of Hoi An farmers, confirmed: "Farmers' Association were in collaboration with the local authorities to check each facility cooking corn, but did not detect any household boiling corn with zinc batteries and chemicals. We are inviting the competent authorities to investigate and bring back the fair truth for our people. "
