This year, jellyfish appeared ealier than usual, with high density and price was also quite stable so jellyfish catching has employed thousands of fishermen in coastal area of Nam Dinh and Quang Ninh province and brought them a quite good income.

The jellyfish exploiting operation happens in almost wards in coastal area of Giao Thuy, Hai Hau, Nghia Hung district, Nam Dinh province. It mostly takes place in coastal area so small boats with rudimentary equipments also can catch jellyfish so that the cost was reduced significantly.

 

Annually, middle of April is the catching season of jellyfish, but this year the season came earlier from end of March with the density higher than annual year 1.5 times.

Because of good crop, there have been a lot of fishing gears which exploits other spieces also changed to catch jellyfish.
