Cassava exporters still worry though got great achievement

Through 11 months of 2012, export of cassava and cassava products has reached $ 1,226 million, higher than the record ($ 960 million) was achieved in 2011.
Compared with the same period last year, exports of cassava has increased by 38.8%, more than double the growth rate of the country's total; this is the fourth highest growth rate in the major export items. Compared with the same period last year, turn over increased $ 343 million, the ninth highest in the absolute commodity turnover increased.


The total export volume in the first 11 months was quite high (approximately 3.9 million tons, up 58.8%).

Cassava production in 2011 totaled 9.87 million tons, nearly 5 times higher than in 2000, double the growth rate of the planted area, demonstrated by high export along with the expansion of the area of care is increasing productivity.

Price cassava exports in 2011 reached $ 275.9 / t and 473.6 USD / ton of cassava products. That's pretty high price. Although cassava exports achieve these results, but more worry than happiness. Cassava planted area has expanded greatly in the types of crops (in 2011 accounted for 4.9% of the total area planted with annual crops, less rice, maize). In provinces with large area and production of cassava is Tay Ninh, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc ... are local may be suitable for the growing of crops with high export value and more sustainable.
